Will's First Halloween...

Well, I didn't dress him up, and I only took him out for a little bit. Will is still having "Back Door Trouble" as some say down south. Today was spent with the BRAT diet, lactose free formula, and trying home remedies. My mom told me of a cure that involves blackberry juice. You just simmer blackberries and strain them and then get the kid to drink the juice. He took the first ounce ok, but when we tried more later he totally refused. I can't say I blame him, it's very sour. He still has a severe yeast rash that doesn't seem to be improving much. We got a prescription for Vusion ointment, it was very expensive and I can't tell if it's really working that well. I have to work both days this weekend so Jason will be in charge of all this fun! Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Madness!

Happy Birthday Angel Princess Fairy!

Home from the HospitalFeeding Baby William

Laura Marie Simmons turns 3 today! Happy Happy Birthday Laura! We love you and miss you lots and lots. William wishes he could be there today to drool on a piece of your cake and rip your wrapping paper after you open your presents. Auntie Kelly and Uncle Jason wish they could be there too, but we wouldn't drool. We hope you like your present and that you get lots of new fun stuff to play with! We couldn't ask for a nicer 3 year old niece! (Have to be careful since we have 2 nieces!)

Cute!

Just So You Know....

Hot chocolate is very difficult to get out of carpets and off walls. I recommend never leaving a mug of it in reach of a 7 month old.

Overalls!

He looks so much older in overalls. I may never put them on him again!

Makeovers n' Such..

Today they were doing one of those Mom make overs on the Oprah show. I have seen many of these over the years and once again they have failed to do a realistic makeover. I can't see myself cleaning poop or puke off a matching sweater set. I won't iron unless there's a death or a wedding. I can't spend an hour every morning putting on make up and doing my hair. I may not be overly attractive in my sweats and cotton t-shirts but I do have a baby so I must be doing something right! Other than that, we stayed in out of the cold and rain today and read books and snuggled a lot. I got the Fisher Price Zoo out for him, and put fresh batteries in. He figured out how to push all the animal sound buttons and it reminded me of why I took the batteries out long ago.

On a lighter note..

The large white thing behind William is his Little Tikes garden I mentioned in a previous post. It has 2 ways of entering/exiting. One is through the adorable yellow gate. The other is through the small white arch on the other side. (You crawl through) Will has decided that entering through the gate is fine, but exiting through a gate is for wimps. He simply leans far over the white wall there behind him until his heavy head pulls him fully over the side and then basically falls out, crawls a bit and is on his merry way! I will try and get video of it soon to post, it is really funny!

I have no idea....

Well, now the little bumps seem to be fading. He isn't getting any more either. I honestly have no idea. He was in a great mood today and ate like a champ so I am now stumped, but thankful that he didn't get them. Although I was sort of happy he didn't have to get the vaccine. Huh. Otherwise, I went to work today and then we went to Carters and exchanged some clothes he was too big for. I got some really cute stuff including a shirt that says "I'm nuts about my mom" with a squirrel on it! Very cute!

It's getting interesting around here!

2 weeks ago Jason was sick, though he didn't tell me for a while. Well, he had another round of the Shingles. I called the Dr at the time and she said that there was a possibility that Will could get the Chicken Pox and that it was too late to worry about it because he has already been exposed. She said it would show up in about 2 weeks if it was going to happen. WELL....Tonight I stripped Will down for his bath and lo and behold he has red spots forming on his back. No wonder he was fussy yesterday! Poor little guy! I have to work for the next 2 days but I made Jason promise to call me if he gets worse and I will rush back home. I will take pictures tomorrow if they get more impressive. I still am holding out hope that they are not the chicken pox, maybe it's just some pimples! Pray for William for a quick recovery and a mild case!

Who looks good in rust?

I never thought I would have a child who would look so good in rust! It's one of those colors most people can not carry off!

Tubby Time!

Velcro Day

I am not sure if William is still not feeling great, or if he is just experiencing separation anxiety but that boy is stuck to me like white on rice! He freaks out if I leave the room even for an instant. He can still hear me and is even able to follow me but instead he stays where I left him and screams. The worst part is that he doesn't do this when Jason is home, so when I am trying to explain how hard the day was and why we are having something crappy for dinner I look like a total liar. Ugh. This morning he was fine until Jason left, when he realized that the door closed and Daddy was gone, then he looked and me and seemed to say, "You sure as heck aren't gettin' away!" and decided to keep tight reins on me. The only problem is I can get nothing done, and since he insists on being carried, I fell carrying him over a baby gate, taking the gate and us down with it. Thank God we weren't hurt, but we easily could have been. I just needed to get that off my chest. I figure the best thing to do for today is hold him and let the rest wait.

Flat Surfaces...

Why is it that every flat surface in my house collects junk? I get so frustrated with all the little piles. I need to create some type of system, but I am not sure what. Any ideas folks?

So it begins....

Will did not sleep well last night and he was very cranky yesterday so this morning I called the Dr and got an appointment. He has double ear infections and is now on his first ever course of Antibiotics. He took the first dose and looked offended by the taste. Hopefully it will kick in quick and he will feel better soon.
On a different note: L'enfant mange le pain a la maison!

A Taste of Fall...

Will tastes the Sheep Pen
Will is un-impressed by the piglet
Heading off into Pumpkin Territory
5 Little Pumpkins!
Daddy and Will
Tasting the Oat Straw
Tasting the Wheelbarrow

A nice snack with Daddy before heading home.

Today we went to get Pumpkins at a nice farm, they also had animals, but at this point Will seems to not really care. We had fun though and I even bought a sugar pumpkin to make into baby food. Hopefully he will like it, because I have a feeling it's going to make a lot!

Favorite Toys....

I need ideas for great toys for William for the next stage, specifically to put on his christmas list. When do they start playing with Brio trains and Duplos? I seriously haven't had my daycare in a long time and I only did care for under 2 year olds, so I am really out of touch with what works for the 1-2 year old. Plus I always had girls in my daycare. So, what are your kids favorites, or what were your favorites?

Let Me Talk!

William Demands the Phone....
William is finally given the Phone...
William hears Aunt Molly say "Hi Pudd!" and smiles. He then usually starts to try and eat the phone. I then take it away and we start all over again.

You Should See The Other Guy...

Pudd got into his first fight today, however the armoire won! He cried and cried, and though you can't see it there is a bruise forming. Poor guy! Learning balance is hard when your head is a 1/3 of your body!

Please Help...

Fun with Cousins

We had lots of fun at the park today with Solon and the family. The girls were adorable as always. Will was enjoying watching them run around, and went down the slide a couple of times. Alessandra is talking is such grownup phrases now! She told a little boy at the playground " Watch out, this is my little sister!" She is certainly not shy!

Another Large Plastic Thing...

I found this fantastic Bouncy Horse for a whopping 4 bucks at Goodwill! Will doesn't look that happy here, but he really does like it!
