Green Meadow Farm...

Will got to hold and piglet, and so did I!!
We made multiple trips back to hold chicks...We had a few "Lenny" moments...Be gentle, don't "love" it too much!!!
Will was THRILLED to climb on the combine!
Charlie loved all the bumps on the hayride and became very Zen-like...
This enormous horse almost ate Charlie's foot when I wasn't looking.  Thankfully, he just nibbled.  Yikes! I think he was trying to get the bottle that was under the blanket next to Charlie's foot....
 More Chick holding...
Will was desperate to bring home this huge Durham Bull.  I explained that it wouldn't even fit in our door!
Will and the Emu seem to have had some kind of ESP going...
There is really nothing cuter than a baby pygmy goat...

Will bonded with this Jersey cow...She reminded me so much of my own Jersey.  Brownie was her name, and she kicked me once when I was putting her milkers on.  I never forgave her.
Will got some milk to come out.  I impressed the farmer with my milking ability.  I felt very sorry for this cow though, all these kids wringing her poor teat all day....Ugh.
This bunny was very patient and SO soft!
 More cow petting...
Note how tiny this goat is compared to Pudd!
Will had to be dragged away from this climber to go see the animals....

Charlie at 2 Months...

Charlie had his 2 Month Well Baby visit today.  He has been pretty crabby since the vaccines, but it was fun to see his latest stats.  He is currently 12 lbs 5 oz, 24 inches long, and 40.6cm head circumference. That puts him at the 85th % for height, 65th% for weight, and 66th% for his head.  William was 12lbs 13oz, and 23.75in at the same age, so Charlie is a little lighter, but a little longer.  His head is always quite a bit smaller though!  Thank goodness!  Maybe Charlie will fit into hats, unlike William.  In other news, Charlie is doing much better these days.  His reflux is getting better with his medication, and the formula has made a world of difference.  I still haven't gotten the insurance to start paying for it, but we should get all the kinks out soon.  It is costing us about 10 bucks a day to feed him, so it is really hurting our pocket book.  He is sleeping much better now that I started putting him on his stomach.  We are all nervous about it, but Grandma bought us an Angel Care Monitor which monitors the baby's movements, including the breathing movement, and alarms if it stops.  I have tested it quite a few times  now, and though I thought it was crazy and over protective at first, I am really impressed now.  I feel much safer with it.  It has been a wild 2 months, but we are thrilled Charlie has come to join our family, and I love having a chance to do it all again.

Feed Me!

We seem to have found a solution for Charlie! We started the new formula last Thursday and it seems to have made a world of difference. He is less fussy and gassy, less irritable, and is sleeping better. Today he actually took a long nap, over 2 hours! That is the longest stretch he has slept since birth. His reflux is much better on the zantac, he is no longer screaming in pain daily and seems to be spitting up very rarely. He is smiling and cooing much more often and I feel like he is finally showing us who he really is. I am so happy we were able to find ways to make him more comfortable. I hated seeing him so miserable!

Baking With Daddy...

William and Daddy baked Chocolate Chip Cookies today while I was at work. They were so yummy! William was very excited to tell me all about it when I got home.

Summer....

It is 95 degrees here right now. I am inside in my lovely AC and William is staying busy in the classic kid fashion. It brings back many happy memories of Flavor-Aid ice pops and a new blow up pool every year....

The Gas We Pass...

Charlie has been a puzzle. At first everything seemed fine. He drank regular formula and nursed like a champ. He slowly needed more and more formula, since my milk production couldn't keep up with his growth. Over time he became more and more gassy and miserable. I went from Enfamil Newborn to Good Start. He seemed more miserable and would scream and pass gas and cried a lot. We switched to Similac Sensitive, which had worked really well for William. That has been pretty good for the last 3 weeks, but over the last week he has developed extreme pooing issues. He is also super gassy and miserable again. Along with that he has terrible eczema on his face and chest. We saw the Dr today and she told me that we needed to switch to Alimentum, which is a hypoallergenic formula. It is VERY expensive, which I was really freaking out about. I did some research and discovered that our insurance will most likely pay for 75% of it! Hurray! I am so relieved, because quite honestly, I couldn't figure out where we were going to get an extra 300 bucks a month for formula! I gave him 3 feedings of it today and it will be interesting to see how tonight goes. The past 3 nights he has been up from 2-4 am fussing and crying. I hope this fixes that! I should note though that while he has gas and tummy trouble, it isn't affecting his growth, he was 11 pounds 12 oz today! He isn't even 7 weeks yet!
