Greenbrier...

Charlie loved this puddle, he kept coming back over and over...

Will soaked up the sun in his floaty, the kid has a tough life...

Charlie was mastering the fine art of castle building...

I told Will to show me his "magic glasses".  He loves his new frames and so do I, and the transitions were worth the money!
The boys and I ended up going to a new lake today, and I can't believe we hadn't been there before now! It was great! Nice, clean water, sandy beaches, lifeguards and changing rooms with showers.  The kids loved it, and we met lots of other nice little kids there to play with.  The lake had tons of minnows in the water and we were able to snag a few in our butterfly net.  So fun!  We will definitely be going back!

Puttin' the Kids to Work!

We headed out early this morning, when it was only in the 80's to pick strawberries...

Charlie refused to keep his sunhat on, but looked very cute!

He sat down in one spot and started eating what I can only hope were strawberries, and apparently the occasional piece of straw...

The kids quickly lost interest, mostly due to the heat, and Charlie started walking back on his own, and William kept complaining every 30 seconds that he was tired and really, really needed some shade and a cold drink, so after 20 minutes of picking I was forced to pack it in.  William was thrilled we were leaving, and happily posed for this picture with our bucket of berries!

Charlie was finished with the whole thing as well, and climbed in to the stroller, grabbed his cup and waited till I got my act together and took him back to the AC.

I did convince the kids to stop and check out the goats...

William asked to use the camera to take pictures of the doggies and was thrilled when this one "Smiled" for him!

Beginning Summer with a Splash!

Saturday was really, really hot and muggy and I knew the pool was opening, so we headed out after I got home from work!

Charlie made his first trip down the frog slide...and he kept going back for more!

William was modeling his new glasses.  They have transitions lenses, which are great for kids!  No need to buy seperate sunglasses!

William made countless trips down the frog slide, he just can't get enough!

Preschool Wrap Up...

William on the circle rug...

One last story...The fruit salad on the table was made by the kids for the parents! Will cut up the bananas!

Sadly, it came out blurry, but this is Mrs Wheeler, his head teacher with William...

and this is Mrs Maul, the assistant teacher.  She has been at the school for more than 20 years! Yikes!
Preschool is done for the summer, and though we had some issues, all in all I am very glad that William went.  He loved his teachers, and the other kids in the class. He is very sad that school is over, and is very excited to go back next year! I asked him what his favorite thing was about school this year and he said "Making a bee".  He apparently enjoyed the arts and craft projects!

Dino William...

William has been really, really obsessed with Dinosaurs lately, so I decided to take him to the Natural History Museum again to hang out with the prehistoric set...

This is one of the long bones of an Allosaurus!  That thing is huge!

I had to drag us into the butterfly house again...I love that place!

We went to William first IMAX 3D movie, and only made it about 5 minutes in, and then William insisted on leaving.  He was really freaked out!  We will be waiting a few more years to try again...

I consoled him with one of those chomping dino toys and a trip to the fountains in the sculpture garden...

Then we went to the Hershorn Gallery to see this sensory exhibit...this was a large area hung with all these little blue plastic tubes. It played tricks on your eyes and when you passed through them it made you feel kinda isolated... Will loved it!

We ended our day with a nice turn on the merry go round.  Note the surly looking attendant behind William...

Then we walked to the metro station and rode back home...We were both exhausted, but we had a lot of fun!

Gabriela Turns Five...

Gabriela had a pony riding party this year, so we all headed out to the farm!

Charlie wasn't too sure about the horses...

But he was certain that he liked the kitties...

Why do kids always poke the eye first?

I'm sure the cat was thrilled when William came over too...

This one month old foal was just loose and roaming around...she was very sweet.

The highlight for Will was this large pile of dirt...we couldn't keep him away!

The Birthday Girl!

Alessandra was loving the riding too!

William was really excited to ride and wasn't afraid to go on the full size horses...

Later he rode one of the little ponies, but he seemed more comfortable on the big horse...

Cake time!

Happy Birthday Gabbi!
