Painting Fun and a New Seat

We moved Will to the table today. He seemed very offended by the high chair tray and was insistent on sitting at the table.

Will enjoyed some painting today. Look at that BELLY!

I think my favorite art he made is the paint left on the plate!

Last Night and Today...

Jason liked these, with the light coming in through the blinds, it makes it seem like he is being interrogated. "What do you know about the disappearance of the cookies?"
"You'll never make me talk, Punk!"

We went to the Smithsonian Folklife Festival today. As you can see William has yet to appreciate learning about international cultures.

I loved the way his curls looked in the sun.

A little blurry; sorry. It was the longest carousel ride ever! The operator was on his cell phone.

Will has finally started to love the pool. He thinks it is really funny when I blow bubbles!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Memories....

When I was preparing to go to Kindergarten I saw this album cover made into a folder at the local IGA supermarket. I had to have it! Thankfully my Mom bought it for me. The funny thing is I think I liked the baby tiger more than Michael Jackson at the time. I will remember him like this. I know far too many of his songs by heart, I have been to Gary,Indiana where he was born. His music videos were always my favorites, except Thriller which scared me to death! I always wanted to keep believing in him. I am sorry that he died in a way, but I feel like years of emotional torment are now over. I hope he is finally at peace.

A Bed for a Pudd...

Molly is coming to stay with us this fall to do some internships before she starts her Phd. program, so she will need a bed. I am thinking about this one, since it has drawers and then William can have it for his big boy bed when she goes back to England.

More Playground Fun!

Will and I usually make it to the park around 10am every day, it gets him worn out for his 11:30 am nap!

Enter Thomas....

I like the way he is using his fingertips to push it...very dainty!

Hey, What Happened to You?

I bought a Thomas the Train set on sale at Barnes and Noble the other day and Will has been having a good time with it. It is still a little old for him, but I am sure he will be loving it more and more as he gets older!

Happy Father's Day Jason!

I have to work tomorrow so we packed up and took a trip into DC for Father's Day. We took William to the National Aquarium, which is small but nice. He liked the alligators most of all, and got a coral snake at the gift shop which he chewed on the rest of the day. After the Aquarium we went to a nice seafood place for "Lupper" and I had the ultimate sandwich for me. It had lobster, crab, and shrimp all together on one bun! Amazing! Will had fish and Jason had scallop and mushroom ravioli. Will did pretty well in the restaurant considering it took a long time for everything to come. A note to all you purveyors of food: I don't need a relaxing meal when I have a 15 month old with me. I need the food fast, and the bill even faster. I don't need time to enjoy a leisurely meal. That won't exist for another 10 years. Thanks!
After that we went to the National Portrait Gallery. Jason hadn't been yet so I took him to the hall of Presidents. Some of the portraits are so well done and others are really not. The one of Ronald Regan is just bad, and the one of Bill Clinton looks very little like him. Will ran around climbing on all the benches and making the security guards give him dirty looks. They are always so crabby. They have a huge atrium area in the center so we let Will run loose out there and he found another little girl to play with that was his age. We soon admitted it was time to go home and by the time we got back to the car William was fast asleep. He woke up with a second wind and is still in his crib as I type banging his busy box against the bars. I would love to have a video camera set up someday to see what all he does in there after we put him to bed. It sounds like he has a lot of fun in there! To Jason: Thank you so much for all that you do for both William and me. You are an amazing husband and Daddy and Will thinks you are the best and so do I!

Pay no attention to the mess behind the baby...

Will has had a low fever today so we are trapped inside. He woke up from his nap though in a fantastic mood and has been pretty squirrely ever since! At this moment he is naked on the slide with a comb in his mouth and seems to be planning on going down the slide backwards! I have tomorrow off so we want to go out and do something fun, but I am not sure what yet. The weather is pretty awful so we may head to an indoor spot, like a museum. DC is really crowded in the summer though, so it's never very appealing. I may convince Jason to drive us up into the Shenandoah's and enjoy a hike. We technically still have the backpack to hike with, but I'm not sure either of us want to haul Pudd around in it!

Romp n' Roll

Will and I made it to open gym today. There weren't as many bigger kids there so Will was more rambunctious than usual. He has been thrilled with life lately and is expanding his vocabulary rapidly! He said "mail" and "hole" today. I love that he can communicate more now, he is signing more phrases now, such as "more please". He also says "read" and then signs "please" and will sometimes say "please" and the same time. I wonder how long it will take him till he stops signing when he speaks the word out loud? We are in a definite honeymoon of parenting right now. We are just enjoying him so much these days, he is so darn cute!

New Shoes for Pudd...

Playing at the kids area in the mall...
Staying busy while waiting for food...
Playing with lemons and ice...No one will be drinking that water!
Staying "entertained" by his laptop on the way home...
Running around the courtyard in his cool new shoes! They are so huge! Size 7 extra-wide!

The best part about Nordstroms is they give you a nice balloon when you get shoes! Hurray!
