Lessons Learned

Today I made more baby food. However, I made a rookie mistake and did not set any kind of timer. The result is pictured here:

I am not quite sure how I will clean this.....

I did get about 6 trays of food made after this fiasco. I made sweet potato with veal, and pear/apple sauce. The pear apple turned out soooo good I wanted to eat it all up! I added a little cinnamon to spice it up a bit.

On a fun note, Will has begun to do this weird down-ward dog yoga move. It is pretty funny looking.

Lucy does that too. It is so funny! What on earth did you do to your food to burn it so bad? And what was it intended to be in the first place?

It was sweet potato that cooked about 2 hours. I put it on to simmer and forgot about it completely. I was busy with the baby and doing some special cloth diaper cleaning called "Stripping". Never do so many things at once!

I don't think that pan looks very salvagable. I burn't a batck of applesauce once. It looked like that and I had to scrub iy with a pumice type stone for hours to get it of. It took the nice finish off the pan so now it is more susptible to having other things stick to it. Great job making your own baby food. It is probably wayyy better that the processed store bought stuff. I can't stand that stuff!

Thankfully it wasn't a really expensive pot, it's one from IKEA, but I hope to salvage it. We'll see! I love making baby food, I like to make a variety for him. Not that he realizes how many options there are in the world yet!
