I Wore The Suit Dammit, Now Take Me to Diggerland!!

At first glance, we weren't that impressed with the place, and then we saw William's face when he was about to ride the first digger.  Then suddenly, it became worth every penny and all the hassle....

He was thrilled!  He ran straight up to it when it was his turn...

And Daddy climbed in to assist...

They got to dig a long time!  Will loved it...

Clearly, Charlie loved these little diggers!  There weren't many of the big diggers that Charlie was allowed on so I was happy to see that they had a lot of little things for them to do.

It took a lot of convincing to get him off this...

Honestly, this army vehicle was William's favorite part.  We had to drag him away, otherwise I think he would have stayed in it till closing time!

Will drove his first go kart, which was pretty scary to watch!  He stayed on the road till the end and then crashed in to some tires...

This thing is the reason that Diggerland could not happen in America.  It was basically a platform on a boom that you sat on with a little seat belt and they lifted you really high and just let you sit there for a while.  It was seriously a law suit waiting to happen...

Naturally, William loved it.

After the crane ride Will drove some of the smaller backhoes, he was a little wild with them so he had to be assisted by us frequently so to avoid hurting himself or others...

I love the look of concentration...

The mini land rovers were tricky to drive for some reason.  The assistant ended up riding with him in the end to help keep him on the road...

Will, Mal, and I adored the bumper cars.  Once on them, he wanted to go again and again.  It was a blast!

We realized that Charlie was tall enough to go with Daddy on the little diggers...

He looked kind of weirded out at first, but soon got into the groove...

Will and I drove around the little site dumpers, which was actually one of the dullest things I have ever done.  They were so slow, I have seriously driven lawn mowers that were faster!

For the little ones they had a great soft play area, with the requisite ball pit.  Charlie worked on his immunizations by tasting all the balls in the pit one by one...

He even made some little English friends!
All in all Diggerland was fantastic.  There were a few things that could have been better (nasty bathrooms, and some rides that you still had to pay for even though you had just paid admission), but William was in heaven.  Charlie loved it too, so as far as the kids went, it was great and that's really all that matters....
