4 Month Check Up
Today was Will's appointment. He is now a whopping 17pounds 7 oz! I was shocked! He was 12 pounds 13 oz at 2 mo. Yikes! He is almost 26 inches long, up from 24in at 2 mo. His head is huge, 44.5cm, up from 41.5 at 2 mo. He is busting out of a lot of his clothes. I specifically put something on him daily that he hasn't worn yet because I have so many things he has barely worn. The Dr said I should feed him cereal 2 times a day now, and get his naps more scheduled. Right now his bedtimes are great, he goes down at about 9:30 every night and is up for the day around 8am. His naps however are all over the place. She said I should get him down to 2 naps, instead of the 4 or 5 little naps he usually takes. So after he recovers from the trauma of his shots I will work on that. Our little boy is getting so big, it's kind of sad....She also thinks he will be an early crawler, since his gross motor skills are advanced. So soon we need to baby proof the house. Ugh!

Two Crazy Kids!
Seven years ago today two crazy kids ran off to Larrabee State Park and got married. It was a gorgeous evening, sunset, calm winds, the best wedding I could have imagined. The marriage has been even better. I firmly believe that God gave me Jason to heal all the pain I had experienced in my life. So, Thank You God for Jason, and Thank You Jason for all that you do every day, and for loving me with all your heart!Saturday, July 5, 2008

Folk Life Festival 2008
Below is an amazing design all done with different colors of sand. It is amazing, they work for hours and then the wind is allowed to take it away.
Today we ventured in to DC and attended the Folk Life Festival. Every year they showcase 2 countries and one state. This year was Bhutan and Texas, the other feature was NASA instead of another country because NASA is turning 50. The NASA part was lame and so was Texas. They mostly just had musicians and food. The food part was enjoyable, with Texas style BBQ, but otherwise it was a washout. The Bhutanese culture was very well represented however. It is a very small country, only about 650,000 people. They are very third world, still using oxen to plow, getting water from rivers, etc. They are Buddhist and they had an actual temple built for the festival. We toured it and one of the monks blessed Will and tied a bracelet on his wrist to ward off evil spirits. We also saw a lot of their arts and crafts, and ate some excellent food. It was extremely hot however, so after a few hours we were ready to go home.

New Job Search
I interviewed for a job today at a fertility clinic. I would only work every other weekend, 6:30am to around 1pm. It will be nice if I get it, some extra cash and a chance to talk to adults every once in a while. I would have to assist with some pretty freaky procedures though so I will need to become very mature all of a sudden. Like saying "Ejaculate" and "Semen" without wanting to giggle or at least crack a smile! You also have to ask questions that could be a little embarrassing. But the hours are good, the pay is good and I know a few people there already so that would be fun. We'll see how it goes. I'm not getting my hopes up yet.

Baby Food Production...
Today I ventured in to the world of baby food processing. Recently I went out to buy baby food and the cost was really going to add up, especially since I use organics. The little jar in front was 59 cents. So, today I packed up Will and we walked to Whole Foods to buy just that....Whole Foods. I bought apples and sweet potatoes for my first attempts. I cooked up the sweet potatoes tonight and ran them through the sieve. I then put them in sterile containers and froze them in 3 tablespoon servings. They look great, taste good, and cost about 1/8th of what it would cost to buy the pre-jarred kind. I only spent about 20 min doing it too. Now I can come up with all kinds of fun combos as he gets more foods in his repertoire!
