Update time! Will and I flew in to Seattle on Tuesday 9/29. The flight went fine, with a layover in Minneapolis, my car seat wheelie thing worked GREAT! It was so easy and I loved being able to use my full size car seat for a stroller. Will basically watched Elmo the whole trip. I love long battery life! He slept about 2 hours too, and we colored a little and ate snacks. We made it to Seattle on time and met Grandma. Will was a little standoff-ish, but not bad, considering it had been 6 months since he had seen her. The next day was spent lazing about, and trying to adjust Will to a 3 hour time difference. He woke up at 3 am wide awake and ready to play, as you can imagine this did not go over well. Aunt Julie came over and we played in the yard, dug in dirt and BBQ'd. We decided to take Will to the beach so he could have some fun Puget Sound style. As you can see from the pictures, he did! He reacted to an enormous field of rocks exactly how I thought he would, at one point he threw himself down and made snow angel motions like he had died and gone to heaven! He saw the water and walked straight out into it up to his knees, it was pretty chilly so I was surprised. I think he would have gone all the way to Whidbey Island if we had let him! The next day we went to Everett and visited with Uncle Patrick and Auntie Bridget and Connor, Laura and Sophie. The kids were thrilled with Will and he was madly in love with their rabbit. We went to St Mary's to see Grandma Jeanie and out to lunch. That morning I also went to the consignment store to get a stroller and shoes for William since he got his other shoes wet in the sound! The next day we did Sausage Fest, Will won some animals and ate french fries. He also got to go on one ride with Uncle Patrick, but sadly there weren't a lot of them that he could ride because he was too short. We met Julie and Debbie for breakfast that morning as well, at IHOP and Will ate pancakes and sausage, one of his favorites! Julie gave Will a bunch of Fisher Price toys to take home, many of the ones we played with years ago and the coveted trucks and train set that Uncle Norman made for Julie when she was little. Will has been having a ball with all these new goodies! Saturday we stayed home at Mom's and puttered around the island, we also went to the beach again, and again Will went for a dip! Thankfully now he has 2 pair of shoes. Sunday we went out with Grandma Jeanie for breakfast and Grandpa was able to join us, then we went to Country Village which I hadn't seen in over 10 years. They have a great toy store, and Will had a good time at the playground. Jeanie bought material for a quilt for William that I am going to try and actually finish in time for him to use it before high school. It is an adorable Cowboy theme and I will scan in the material later. Later that afternoon we went to visit Teresa and Booker, and give Booker his first birthday present. The boys were very cute together. After that I had a little time, before I had to pick up Mom so we went looking for Legion Park in Everett. I couldn't remember exactly where it was, only that it was on a bluff overlooking the water. I finally found it and it was lots of fun. Monday we went to Seattle and spent the day with Patty, we had tons of fun! We did the Children's Museum, which is AMAZING! We went to Ivar's on the pier for lunch and I saved some french fries for the seagulls. We went out to feed them and low and behold -one SWOOPED down and bit me on the finger! Ouch! I even bled! Darn things! On the way back to the Seattle Center we walked through Pike Place Market, which is always so busy and fun. We stopped by Fun Forest and we all rode the carousel, one of Will's favorite things to do. After that we stopped for a few more minutes at the Children's Museum and then took Patty home. We had such a nice day and we were very Thrilled to find out Patty and Ryan are having their first baby! Whoopee! I can't wait to meet him or her!
