I Love You Nordstrom!
Today we were going to get Pudd his first real pair of shoes. We were quite excited over this and we decided to go to Nordstrom because they sell quality shoes and have a great selection. I underestimated the value of customer service however. We got there and picked out 2 pair of shoes that looked promising, good flexibility, nice ankle support, all the stuff they tell you to look for. The salesman came up and checked out Pudd's "walking" and told us that there was no reason to buy him shoes yet. He said that putting a shoe on him now would make crawling more difficult for him and wouldn't help him walk faster. He said that the Pediped booties we had on him were completely fine for now and that when Will is walking more than 60-70 percent of the time we should come back and get shoes for him. I was shocked that this salesman was so wonderfully honest! He refused to make an unnecessary sale. What a wonderful and refreshing thing! Well, they have just made me a life long devoted customer!

I have always appreciated Nordstrom's for that fact. Actually I once got shoes there and not even a week later Andrew complained that they hurt so I took him back. Either I had bought shoes in the middle of a growth spurt or they had measured him wrong because they exchanged the shoes for free. That was wonderful since I on average spent $45 for the Fred Flinstone shoes he required. Now that they are a bit bigger (and I have more pairs to buy) I go to the stride rite outlet. Same great quality shoes at half the price. Although I do admit to taking them to Nordstroms for a fitting every once in awhile just to make sure I am doing ok with the brainless staff at the outlet.
Someone else mentioned the Stride Rite outlet. I must find one around here, because I seriously can't picture spending 45 bucks every few months on his shoes! How fast do they go through them?
At his age? About every 3 or 4 months. Very quickly a budget breaker. Especially if he has wide feet like my two do. You should shop for shoes while you are up here. Get a couple of sizes if you can and stock up. I can buy shoes for both the boys at the outlet for what it used to cost me for one pair in Alderwood.
Where is the outlet?
Marysville. Out by the new casino in Tulalip.
