Thanks Aunt Julie!

Julie made Will this cute apron. She works at the library so the numbers represent the Dewey Decimal code for grilling. She knows how important grilling is around here!

Mr Cool...

Will in his Cool sunglasses! He loves to take them on and off, often stabbing himself in the eye.
Maya came to visit us today. Will was not terribly fond of her, but she will be hanging around more and more often so he better get used to her! She is SO sweet! She is now 5 weeks old!

Will has been playing around with his potty chair. Someone gave it to us, otherwise I wouldn't have one yet. He likes to sit on it over and over and occasionally puts it on his head. He peepeed on the floor 4 times though so obviously he is far from ready!
We haven't done much this week, Will has not been feeling great post vaccines, so we stayed in a lot. The weather has also been really crappy. Very muggy and super hot. We went to the pool once, Will still isn't keen on it. We went to story time this morning, which was fun, and then Rachel and Maya came over for a visit. Will wasn't happy when she got a bottle and he didn't! I had to get him one immediately to calm him down. Maya will be coming to stay with us for a few hours a week when Rachel returns to work, so I think it will be really good for Will to learn to share the world with someone else. We are off to spend the day at Jack and Kelsey's tomorrow (I've been watching them every other friday) so Will will get to have tons of fun! They have a dog and he loves spending the day with her! Have a great weekend!

15 month visit

Today we took William for his 15 month visit. He was still 26lbs 14oz, a whopping 33 inches!!, and a 50.25 head circumference. He was on track for all the developmental milestones, a total of about 30 words now, and we discussed the bottle issue. I am still going to let him have it until he is done with it. He only takes 3 a day and doesn't take it to bed, so the Dr agreed that it was fine. We wrapped up the visit with his MMR and a Hep A vaccine. The pain was quickly soothed with a lollipop and he fell asleep on the way home. Poor Guy!

Summer Evenings at the Park...

We took William to the park this evening after dinner. The weather has turned to summer here. 80's and humid pretty much every day. The ice cream truck is making his rounds, and I was thinking this evening that someday in the not too distant future William will know what that tune means and will beg to get some. Will climbed all the way up both big slides tonight and was trying desperately to learn to climb the ladders. I am glad we live in such a nice, walkable, kid friendly area! Will was all tired out by the time we got home and went to sleep in record time!

I DIDN'T WANT TO PLAY WITH YOU ANYWAY!!

I don't know how it is in the rest of the country, but around here it stinks to try and get out and join in group activities with other Moms and kids. You try and be friendly, make small talk, ask about their stupid, snotty little kid, how old they are, etc, tell them they're cute even when they aren't, etc. But around here it seems that it starts with the birthing class, you make friends there, then you go to Mommy and Me classes together when your babies hit 3months. Then you do Kindermusic, My Gym, etc. We didn't do that. So now when we go to various story times, open gym, etc, these women have already made buddies with each other and there is no room for any more friends! These little cliques formed and it is just like high school all over again. It stinks! Some of the Mom's will chat with me until their friends show up and then they won't introduce me to their friends they will excuse themselves and leave me out in the cold. Maybe I am just in the wrong neighborhood. The women here don't seem to appreciate it that I don't have 2 cars, I live in a *gasp* APARTMENT, and William is not on a waiting list for preschool! Just a rant, sorry, but I need to vent and obviously I have no one here to vent to!

The Life of Pudd...

Dinner involves immediately grabbing a handfull of sourcream and squishing it for the rest of the meal.
For some reason climbing up is always more fun than sliding down.
Pudd is really into books, and book baskets!
Check out Pudd's new ride!  I got this Kettler Tricycle for 7 bucks!
