Hit the Road Jack!

We are planning another road trip. I am hoping it goes better than last time. Jason's Mom is coming to visit her Dad in Indiana, so we are driving the approximately 10 hours to join in. William has still not met his namesake, so this trip is a big deal! I am planning on buying a portable DVD player so Will can watch Teletubbies for at least a couple of hours. Books and electronic toys will also fill the void. Any other ideas?

We Survived!

Jason and I dropped William off at Krista's and he did fine. I thought ahead and brought the Teletubbies DVD and that saved her. When we left I kept it together and didn't cry. We had a lovely time at dinner. I didn't have to cut up anyone's food nor collect crayons off the floor. We had uninterrupted conversations! I gave Jason the cell phone so I couldn't call and check on him. I was very happy to go get him though! He did fine and seemed very happy to see us. Joseph, who is 4, took very good care of him and was playing with him the whole time. I was happy to see we all made it through without many tears. We will try it again someday, when he is 13 or 14.

Anxiety Ridden Mommy...

Tonight we are leaving William with an actual non-blood related person! Yikes! I can't tell you how nervous I am! I know that he will be fine, and that he will have fun. I also know it is only 2 hours. Just enough time to go to dinner. I am excited to spend time with Jason, and that my friend will take great care of him, but I am still nervous. Mainly I fear he will cry when we leave, and cry while we are gone. I will have my cell though and I will be less than 20 minutes away. Can you say "Neurotic"?

Zoo Day!

Walking a little ledge...
Naming the animals on the sponsorship wall...

Flipping informational flaps...
"Hey, There are animals here!"
I took William to the zoo yesterday in honor of our anniversary and because we had great weather for it! I am so glad that the zoo is free because William pays almost ZERO attention to the animals. He will meander around happily playing with fences, trashcans, shrubbery, etc. He does get excited when he sees common animals that he sees at home, like squirrels and chickadees and then I always get a little irritated, because I didn't have to drive 40 min through DC traffic for him to squeal at a squirrel!

Eight years ago today we stood on a little cliff and got married. It was by far the best decision I have ever made. I remember asking myself at that last moment if I was sure...and I was. Happy Anniversary Jason!

Happy 4th of July!

Nothing says Independence Day like riding your bike in your pajamas!
We went to Solon and Andreas for dinner and played in the pool.

Will spent most of it climbing in and out.

And climbing on the tables.

Thankfully it was fenced!
Gabriela was oh-so cute in her little swimsuit!
Alessandra was having a ball playing catch!

Much to our dismay, Will drank some pool water.
Today Will spent the day with Daddy. He stumbled around in Jason's shoes like a little clown!

I like this picture, he looks so sweet!
We got ice cream cones after dinner. Will took a long time to finish his cone stump, and had it sticking out of his mouth for a really long time.

Other than the funny stump, I liked the way you can see his eye color well here.
Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. I worked it, but we had a nice evening with Solon and family. Will and the girls are playing better together and he ate at the little kids table for the first time. Once he finished his food he went around and cleaned off all the food the girls had left on their plates. I think he may have ended up eating 3 hotdogs!

Fun in the Sun...

Today we joined my friend Krista and her brood for a fun time at the pool. The pool in their neighborhood is really nice and is much shallower than ours. It was nice to not have to worry quite as much about Will drowning himself. We spent hours today playing in the fountains and splashing around. Will was so tired after all the fun he fell asleep on the 5 minute ride home! It was really nice for me to go to the pool with another adult. It is so wonderful to speak in full sentences again!
