Charlie at 15 Months...

Charlie was in for his 15 month visit on Wednesday.  He was 24lbs, 32.25 inches, and had a 48cm head circumference.  He is right on track and even a little ahead for fine and gross motor, and is slightly behind for speech.  We asked if animal noises count as words though, and Dr Rahman said they do as long as they are consistent and repeated when he is asked in a direct question, so that's a plus.  He makes 3 or 4 animal sounds.  This week he said "Brother" really clear, so that was exciting!  He loves William so much and is really starting to bug Will by following him around all the time.  Poor Will! He tolerates it pretty well though.  Charlie got his immunizations that he missed at his 1 year, (since he was having surgery, we held off) so we have a little catching up to do.  Charlie is sleeping better these days, but still wakes up once a night or so, and we have no idea what to do about it, so we just deal with it.  He is taking a huge nap daily though, so I love that.  All in all he is doing really well and though very, very opinionated, he is a sweet little monkey!

Charlie's First Haircut!!!

Before the cut, looking awful shaggy!

He kept looking at the hairdresser, wondering what she was going to do...

He looks kinda nervous...

The hairdresser gave a lollipop, and he looked up at her with adoration...

The rest of the cut was very easy...

He already looks older!

William also got a haircut, and for some reason it made him more papal like than I have ever seen him before...

Painting...

Trying to keep this kids busy over the summer apparently includes semi-naked painting, but with an o-so charming expression!

Since Charlie is still in the "Eat the Paint" stage, I gave him a brush and a pudding cup...

The brush was soon tossed aside, and he went right to the source!

So Tasty!

He looks so pleased with himself!

Baby Gym...

The weather has been so darn miserable around here, super hot, super muggy, and at some point, even the pool isn't a relief.  Our local Romp n' Roll has open gym times and so we headed there last week to play.  (in fact, I think this is where Charlie got his illness)  The kids had a great time and it was so nice to be able to run around and be crazy, but not have to worry about mosquitoes, or sunscreen!  We may make it a once a week activity till the fall brings relief...

Say Ahhh!

Charlie has had what we thought was just a bad cold, and possibly a sinus infection this week, and on and off has had a croupy cough.  He was on Prednisone this week, and seemed to improve, but this morning he was croupy again, and had a fever.  I decided to take him to urgent care after I got home from work and I was shocked when they said he had strep!  William hasn't had strep yet, so I wasn't really prepared for that.  We got our antibiotics and are now cozy at home with lots of fluids and humidity.  I hope to see Charlie returning to his normal, happy self soon!

Fourth of July...

We started the day by making a cake for Mom.  Will wanted a Jeopardy cake, since he knows Grandma loves Jeopardy!

This is the best I could do...sad isn't it?  "I'll take "That's Crap" for $200 Alex!"

William was THRILLED and very excited to give Grandma her presents.  She was kind enough to let him help unwrap a couple.

Charlie can climb up on the kitchen chairs now and yesteday he found sausages on the table! He ate about 3 of them, after he had already eaten his own breakfast!

He was so proud of himself!

We BBQ'd for dinner and then headed to the fireworks.  Will loved the view, but not the sound.

Charlie was completely exhausted, but was so captivated by the fireworks that he didn't fall asleep.  He was mesmerized!

Happy 4th of July!

Charlie Update...

Charlie is changing and growing so fast!  He is 14 months old now and I find myself wondering what happened...He is such a sweet little boy, cuddly and loves to be held.  On the flipside he has a mean little temper and is starting to try out naughty things like hitting and biting.  Yikes! We are working hard to nip that in the bud.  He still adores William and finds him so facinating.  They are playing together more and more all the time.  Charlie loves reading books, music, baths, and his blanket.  He still has a pacifier, and pretty much only has it at bedtime.  He is getting his molars all at once, so has been having a few rough days.  He is now officially off his reflux meds, he is drinking regular milk now, but is still reacting to corn and soy.  His ear tubes have made a huge difference and he is saying lots of words now.  He says "Mom" "Da" "Mama(grandma)" something resembleing "brother" and "William".   He says "What's that?" and we think he may be saying a lot more, but can't quite understand yet.  He seems very certain of what he is saying though!  He is sleeping better, usually only waking once in the early morning and then going back to sleep.  His favorite things are cats, cows, hot dogs, watermelon, cheese, and Octonauts!  We love him so much and I am still so happy that Charlie was given to us...We love you Charlie!

Little Artist...

Charlie has started painting...

Deep thought...

Hmmmm....

The paint tastes funny...

Time to wash it off!!

Blueberries!

Daddy, Grandma, and the boys went out blueberry picking while I was at work a couple of weeks ago.  They had a great time and picked some WONDERFUL blueberries!  The kids had a ball and Grandma enjoyed picking them for the first time.  We may have to go get some more before the season ends!
